Epidiolex

The FDA approved the first cannabis-derived drug in June 2018 called Epidiolex. It is designed to treat two forms of childhood epilepsy using the marijuana compound, cannabidiol (CBD). This could start a wave of further research into other cannabis-derived medicines. CBD and THC are only 2 of cannabis’ 400 compounds and researchers are wondering if the others hold promise. Epidiolex is classified as a Schedule V drug.
