The Government Shutdown and Hemp

The new farm bill promises some exciting opportunities, however, the government shutdown has halted hemp cultivation. The USDA is currently unable to approve state hemp program regulations, and the FBI cannot move forward with required background checks. This isn’t a huge deal yet, but eventually, farmers will need to prepare new crops, and the longer the shutdown lasts, the bigger a problem this becomes.
